Lifesmart Dash Cam – A Relatively Unknown Brand
Lifesmart is certainly not a well-known brand in the dash cam industry. However, after taking a look through the range of devices that they offer, it seems that they have had a lot of positive feedback from their customers.
They currently have a wide range of dash cams available, each offering something different in terms of price and features. Today, we have chosen to test and review this particular dash cam from Lifesmart so that we can give you a better idea of the features that it has to offer and what you can expect from the dash cam.
- 1080P Full HD Recording
- 170 Degree Wide Angle Lens
- Night Vision
- G Sensor
- Loop Recording
- Unmanned Surveillance Video
- 4” Screen with Playback
- Unique slim line design.
- Lots of different features to take advantage of.
- Night vision feature.
- The screen is a little on the small side.
The design of this particular dash cam from Lifesmart is completely unique, there is nothing like it on the market right now which instantly makes it stand out from the competition. The blue colour, however, does make it stand out a little so if you want something extra discreet then this may not be the dash cam for you.
Although the colour and shape makes the dash cam stand out, it is important to note that it is still compact enough to fit neatly behind the rear view mirror without being too obvious. The installation of the dash cam was relatively simple and didn’t take us very long to do at all.
The one thing that we really like about the design of this Lifesmart dash cam is the 2.4” LCD screen. The main reason why we like it is that it offers a playback feature. The only way that this could be improved is if the screen was made a little bigger. Other than that, the design is great.
The Recording Quality
We were actually really surprised with the recording quality with this dash cam from Lifesmart. We expected it to be compromised a little given that it comes from a relatively unknown brand but this really isn’t the case.
The camera itself picks up number plates really well, even at night there are no issues with capturing images of them so that they are perfectly easy to read. The LCD screen is of a very high quality and when you watch the footage back through the playback feature it is easy to see that the recording quality is high. However, the screen is a little on the small side to be able to fully appreciate the high quality of the resolution.
The Extra Features
There are actually a few extra features that we didn’t really expect with this dash cam, considering the brand isn’t a big name. First of all there is the unmanned parking surveillance system. This system will protect your vehicle when you are parked anywhere. It will automatically start recording if there is any movement or impact detected outside of your vehicle which is perfect.
Another feature that is definitely worth noting is the super night vision. We found that it is actually very effective and we had no trouble at all capturing high quality footage during the evening. Again, by viewing the playback it is clear to see the quality of the resolution.
Overall, this is actually a really impressive little dash cam for something that is so small and from a brand that we don’t really know much about. It is cost effective, there are basic features plus a few extras and it is small enough to be discreet. If you want an inexpensive solution that performs relatively well then this is definitely a dash cam to add to your list.
