Thinkware F770 – Do One of The Global Leaders In Car IT Deliver?
If you have a car, then it is highly likely that you will have heard of the brand Thinkware. They claim to be one of the global leaders in smart car information technology and have been in operation since 1997. They are well-known for their high quality products, including their range of robust dash cams.
They have an extensive range of dash cams to choose from, including this one which is the Thinkware F770. If you are looking for a dash cam and want to examine your options, then you should find our review of this particular device quite helpful. Take a look at our unbiased review below.

- Very well-built and robust.
- Great alerts system.
- The dash cam itself is a little on the bulky side.
Upon first appearances, the main thing that we noticed is that the dash cam itself is a little on the bulky side. However, this didn’t really cause us any problems as it was still able to fit behind the rear view mirror quite neatly. On the front of the camera, you will find the logo on the left hand side and the camera lens on the right.
One of the things that did come to mind was the fact that the design of this dash cam could have had a little more thought put into it. It isn’t exactly very stylish, which will not be a problem for many people, but if you want something sleek and stylish then this is not the dash cam for you.
The installation of the dash cam couldn’t have been more straightforward. It took us a couple of minutes before it was up and running and ready to record our journey. Overall, we like the design. It is basic but effective.
The Recording Quality
The first thing that we would like to note is that the super night vision feature is fantastic. It really does deliver. We thought that it might struggle in really dark areas, but this was not the case at all. The super night vision is powered by image signal processing technology which really offers a crystal clear picture in low lighting.
As you can imagine, with the night vision being so effective, the clarity of the picture in the daylight is even better. We have absolutely no complaints at all regarding the recording quality of this dash cam. The 2.19MP camera is perfect for capturing still images such as number plates. The images are sharp and very clear.
The Extra Features
The best thing about this Thinkware dash cam is that there are plenty of extra features to enjoy. First of all, there is the Road Safety Warning System. This will alert you if you are driving too closely to the car in front of you and it will also alert you if you are drifting from your lane which is quite easy to do.
We like these features because most dash cams are installed with the purpose of capturing accidents when they happen, but this one from Thinkware actually focuses on preventing them from happening in the first place too. These extra safety features are a welcome addition to an already impressive dash cam.
Another thing that we really liked was the Thinkware app that you can download to use in conjunction with your dash cam. With this app, you are able to condense and edit your footage, and you also have the option to share your footage with friends, family, or even your insurance provider. This again is a really welcome extra feature.
All in all, we were really impressed by this dash cam from Thinkware. It has been cleverly designed to be discreet and robust and performs exceptionally. The only thing that we didn’t really like was that it is a little on the bulky side and it isn’t one of the most stylish devices on the market.
However, appearances aren’t important to you, then this will be irrelevant. The extra safety features alone really make this dash cam stand out from its competitors. If you are looking for a device that will allow you to improve your safety on the road as well as record any incidents that occur then this is the one for you.
The price tag is slightly more expensive than some of the more basic options out there, but if you can afford to pay a little extra then the safety features should be a good incentive.
