Road Angel Dash Cams: What Owners Actually Report
Road Angel Halo owners consistently praise the picture quality and the screen free design, and consistently criticise the phone app. The most serious sourced complaint is a rear camera that recorded a mirrored image and came back from a three week repair with the fault still present.
We do not test cameras. Everything on this page is something somebody else published, with a link to where they said it and the date they said it. There is a reasonable amount of real owner material on this camera. There is real owner material here across the Halo range, plus dated independent reviews from Trusted Reviews and Digital Camera World. The Halo Drive, which this page used to be about, has almost no owner discussion of its own.
Who actually makes it. Road Angel Group is an established UK company. Its dash cams are sold through Halfords, Argos and other high street retailers.
What owners complain about
the rear camera recorded a mirror image, so the car appeared on the wrong side of the road. Road Angel returned it after three weeks with the fault still there. DO NOT BUY.
What owners praise
picture quality is good, as good as hoped for the price, can establish all relevant number plates
Its great at night. The quality is good, and its easy to take videos off.
Hardwired into the ignition, has a parking mode, decent cameras and pretty easy to access the footage.
recorded more usable detail than most other examples I’ve tested
An independent publication that tests cameras. We do not.
Mixed reports
the only downside is the software isn’t brilliant
Dashcam is great, but their app is crap.
The specification, and who is claiming it
A manufacturer stating its own camera is 4K is not the same as somebody checking. Rows marked as a seller claim are the seller talking.
